The Politics of T M Krishna: A Ready Reckoner

One of the immoral Kannada proverbs goes thus: ಅನ್ನ ಹಳಸಿತ್ತು ನಾಯಿ ಹಸಿದಿತ್ತು (The food had rotted, the dog was hungry). This proverb pretty much accurately characterises the musical urban naxal, T M Krishna who has finally found refuge in the tainted arms of the political urban naxal, Arvind Kejriwal and gang after the Airports Authority of India (AAI) deservedly cancelled his concert.

Carnatic musician T M Krishna will perform in New Delhi on Saturday evening. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, making the announcement Friday, said no artist should ever be denied an opportunity to perform. The AAP government had offered to host Krishna in the national capital after an event in which he was to perform was called off by Airports Authority of India (AAI).

This must be viewed as a positive byproduct of the said concert cancellation: the more these things happen, the greater T M Krishna will reveal himself. Not that there’s much left to be revealed.

This piece pretty much comprehensively profiles T M Krishna so I’ll only give some additional tidbits that will further reveal the extreme Left politics that he peddles and practices.

It appears that the Indian Express has dedicated an entire section defending, promoting, and puffing up this cultural vandal. Check out the kind of cringeworthy “reportage” flowing forth from there. These are not journalists by any standard: they are JNU-slogan shouters working in a media company.

Airports authority scraps T M Krishna concert after trolls call him anti-India…A campaign by right-wing trolls has allegedly forced the organisers to call off a concert by T M Krishna in the national capital…Krishna had re-tweeted AAI’s invitation on Monday, which activated trolls…The trolls asked if the bureaucrats knew who they were supporting…

Not to be outdone, Firstpost also went on a near-spamming spree, spitting out Marxist screeds disguised as opinion pieces, all in support of this musical urban naxal. This one takes the cake–it’s so ridiculous that it is actually funny.
Of course, the less said about absolute, third-rate rags like Wire and Scroll the better.
But if you really want to make a serious, academic study in the psychology and pathology of flattery, I offer you this piece by the ultra Liberal Pathologist, Ramachandra Guha. Emphases added.

Another Indian institution I admire is T M Krishna. Krishna is a force of nature. He is, best known, of course, for his music. However, apart from being a singer of genius, he is a public-spirited individual with an abiding commitment to the greater good, whether it is the restoration of the forests of the Western Ghats or the restoration of social harmony in strife-torn Jaffna…But to prevent a great musician from performing in the national capital is not mere intolerance — it is barbarism.
